The Programs for IRC.


To use IRC you need to use a program (some times called a client) to be able to connect to a IRC Sever. Depending on which type of computer you use, it depends on which program you use.
There are some available on the Downloads Page.

For a windows machine there is quiet a few different ones including

Pirch
At present it is Pirch98, but this has not been developed. A new version Pirch2000 is expected in the future.
mIRC
Is still in development an has quiet regular updates, not as good yet as Pirch.
dirc
The new guy on the block, still has teething problems but under development.

For Linux there is
x-chat
The best by far of the Linux clients, still under development.

For MacOS there is
IRCLE
One of the few clients for the MacOS and still in development.

For the Amiga there is
Grapevine
The first IRC client for the Amiga, no longer supported.
Chatbox
A shell / Telenet IRC client, no longer supported.
AmIRC
The best by far IRC client on any platform.
